Este estudo analisou possíveis relações entre o repertório de habilidades sociais educativas dos cuidadores e as habilidades sociais e problemas de comportamento de crianças em situação de acolhimento institucional. Participaram 36 crianças, de 6 a 12 anos, bem como 19 cuidadores responsáveis, que responderam sobre as crianças no Sistema de Avaliação de Habilidades Sociais (SSRS-BR) e sobre si no Inventário de Habilidades Sociais (IHS-Del-Prette) e o Inventário de Habilidades Sociais Educativas (IHSE-Del-Prette). A amostra de crianças apresentou escores abaixo da norma para habilidades sociais e acima para problemas de comportamento; a de cuidadores apresentou escores normativos para habilidades sociais e abaixo da norma para habilidades sociais educativas. São discutidas possíveis implicações práticas e de pesquisa das habilidades sociais educativas de cuidadores sobre o desenvolvimento socioemocional de crianças institucionalizadas. Educative social skills of caregivers of institutionalized children. This study analyzed issues related to the repertoire of educative social skills of caregivers and the social skills and behavioral problems of institutionalized children. Participants included 36 children aged 6 to 12 years, as well as 19 responsible caregivers, who evaluated children with the Social Skills Rating System (SSRS-BR) and their own repertoire with the Social Skills Inventory (IHS-Del-Prette) and with the Educative Social Skills Inventory (IHSE -Del-Prette). Children scored below the norm for social skills and above for behavior problems. Caregivers achieved normative scores for social skills, but scored below the norm for educative social skills. Discussion focuses on possible practical and research implications of the educative social skills of caregivers on the socioemotional development of institutionalized children.
